How do I apply blush without it looking overdone or underdone?

I am a light complexion black woman. When I find blush, I either look bruised because it is too dark or like a over made up baby doll because it is too light. I want it to look natural. I know that you apply it to the apple of your cheek. But how much and what color and shades. How do I apply blush without it looking overdone or underdone?
There is a fine art to applying blush. What you should do is apply just enough of it that it's not underdone, then apply a little more until it's just short of being overdone. The you're done - not over or under, but done. Hope that helps. How do I apply blush without it looking overdone or underdone?
to find the perfect color you should go to a

sephora store near you.

the will sit you down and find the rihgt color for your skin type they will also sample it on you and help you find the right brush you can also ask for aplication tips

the

here is the store web site i hope it helps
i always say go to the make up counter at nordstorm or macys they will hook you up!!

u dont even have to buy anything

But if u want something cheaper adn to try on ur self i highly reccommend the neutrogena face blush that comes in small squares with a variety of colors it doesnt give u a solid color but a nice mixture u can find it at target or walmart for about 11 bucks also dont use the blush that comes with it use a big brush and tap the excess.
For a youthful, unoverapplied blush appeal.............

Use a light pink and lightly swipe across the palette. More times than not I blow very slightly at the end of the brush so that there isn't that much left. It's better to underapply slowly than to make an 'oops-Raggity-An' look. Start from your upper cheek bones when you're applying the brush to your cheeks, right near your ear. End at the apple of your cheek. The blend should be a line from from the ear to the apple of your cheek and it should be darkest in that beginning area and gradually become lighter as you go to the gathering of your cheeks found when you smile.
best be applied in sunlight, in the morning without any artifical lighting. Dont stand too close to the mirror, but maybe a counter away (1-2 feet?). start lightly and work your way up. You know you've gone too far when you can distincly see the pink. It should blend well with your skin and add MINIMAL color. Once you see even a little pink on your face, stop.
