There is a carpet cleaner you can buy at Lowe's hardware store called ';Folex';. It is the best cleaner I have come across - removes just about everything. Spray it on and use one of those Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pads to scrub with.
Perhaps steaming it out will help.
Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray directly on stain, let it sit for several minutes, and clean wit a brush or sponge using warm soapy water. For a heavy duty carpet cleaner, mix 1/4 cup each of salt, borax, and vinegar. Rub paste into carpet, leave for few hours. Vacuum.
